Frequently Asked Questions

1. What CNC machining services do you offer?

We provide tight-tolerance CNC turning, 3-axis milling, manual milling, keyway broaching (up to 1″), thread repair, reverse engineering, prototype parts and small-batch production—all in-house for faster turnaround and quality control.

2. Where is Steiner Metalworks located and what areas do you serve?

Our full-service shop is in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, with daily service to Nashville, Columbia, Spring Hill, Franklin, Shelbyville and the greater Middle Tennessee region.

3. What are your business hours?

We’re open Monday–Friday, 6 a.m.–5 p.m. (Central). Call or text 615-306-9394 anytime for rapid response; weekend emergency support is available by prior arrangement.

4. Do you require a minimum order quantity?

No. We specialize in no-minimum, small-batch production and one-off prototypes, so you only pay for the exact quantity you need.

5. How fast can you complete my job?

Standard jobs are ready in 2–5 business days; rush orders and simple repairs can be turned around the same day depending on workload and material availability.

6. Can you repair worn or obsolete parts?

Yes. We combine reverse engineering, welding buildup and precision machining to restore or reproduce worn, broken or discontinued components to “factory-new” specs—often faster and cheaper than OEM replacements.

7. Which materials can you machine or weld?

We routinely work with aluminum, mild and stainless steels, tool steel, cast iron, brass, bronze, Delrin, ABS, polycarbonate and many other alloys and plastics.

8. Do you offer welding services?

Absolutely—our MIG and TIG stations handle light fabrication, cracked housings, surface buildup and component reinforcement, all integrated with post-weld machining for precise final fits.

9. How do I request a quote?

Email info@steinermetalworks.com, call/text 615-306-9394, or use the quote form on any page. Attach drawings or CAD files (STEP, IGES, SolidWorks) and we’ll respond within one business day.

10. Do you provide on-site maintenance and repairs?

Yes. Our mobile team performs vibration analysis, rotating-equipment repair and emergency thread/broaching fixes right at your facility to slash downtime.

11. What tolerances can you hold?

Our precision machines and tight tolerances regularly achieve ±0.001 in. (±0.025 mm) on metals and even tighter on simple geometries or plastics.

12. Can you help with design or prototype development?

Definitely. We offer design-for-manufacturability reviews, material selection guidance and rapid CNC prototyping to move your concept from CAD to finished part quickly and cost-effectively.
